They shine a light on their favourite 3 Wise Men Clothing.

Fair to say most kiwi kids dream of wearing the black jersey when they grow up. But after one too many head knocks, “not even from playing rugby,” mad-keen player Finlay Barnett got told, "No more footy,” at the ripe old age of 14.

Devastating news for many. But after meeting the man you get a sense that he takes most things in his stride. So, a refocus of his passion saw him hit the touch field. Hard.

He’d always played it in summer with his best mates from rugby, “down the road at Karaka - the best footy club in the world.” But it wasn’t till a teacher at secondary school urged him to trial for an age group team, that things fell into place. “I’ll always thank Miss Walker for pushing me further than I ever imagined,” he says.

“Dressing well in 3 Wise Men gear always makes me walk a bit taller.”

These days Fin (23) gets to live his dream as a member of the Touch Black Open Men's squad as a flying winger. “Everyone wanted to be the ball player which I wasn't very good at, so I thought wing might be my best opportunity,” he laughs, adding, "that just getting a run is amazing but nothing feels better than catching someone!”

"I really love the fit and look of the clothes and it’s cool to dress up a bit for work." The 3 Wise Men Braxton Chinos, $130 / included in the 3 for $300 bundle are a great choice and pair perfectly with the Heath Navy Check Shirt $130 / included in the 3 for $300 bundle. A pair of the Jovi Suede Chukka Boots $230 / 2 shoes or boots for $333 ties the whole outfit together.

Tough, lightening quick and elusive on the field - but measured, considerate and generous off, Fin is an impressive - and extremely busy man.

While following his footy dream is “the best thing in the world,” it doesn’t pay the bills - “not yet anyway.” So he works full time at a digital marketing agency, and, making use of his Sport & Exercise Science degree, is also a strength and conditioning coach in his ever decreasing spare time.

While Fin spends a good part of his week in exercise kit, he’s a firm fan of 3 Wise Men gear too. “I really love the fit and look of the clothes and it’s cool to dress up a bit for work. I reckon it makes me walk a bit taller!” he says.

Walking tall is never going to be a problem for this highly motivated good bugger. “Long-term excellence is this mysterious thing that I'm super fascinated by. I don't want to be good for just one year - I want to be the best I can be over a long period of time, not being just a good touch player, but a good family man, friend, teammate, partner, and employee.”

We reckon he’ll take that challenge in his stride too.
